Afrobeats sensation David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has once again shown his good spirit and sportsmanship by celebrating Tems’ victory at the 67th Grammy Awards. Despite being one of the nominees for Best African Music Performance, Davido took to social media to congratulate Tems on her well-deserved win.

Tems secured her second Grammy Award with her hit song Love Me Jeje, triumphing over a strong lineup that included Yemi Alade’s Tomorrow, Asake’s MMS, Chris Brown’s Sensational (featuring Davido & Lojay), and Burna Boy’s Higher. Her back-to-back Grammy recognition further solidifies her position as one of Africa’s most influential global artists.

Rather than focusing on the competition, Davido expressed nothing but admiration and pride, writing, “Congratulations to my one and only! Chris Brown! And to the Queen, @temsbaby, we are proud of you!”

His message not only celebrated Tems’ achievement but also acknowledged his collaborator Chris Brown, proving once again that he is an artist who uplifts others.

The Best African Music Performance category was a landmark moment for Nigerian music, with all nominees hailing from Nigeria, showcasing the country’s global dominance in the Afrobeats genre. Davido’s gracious reaction reflects his mature and supportive approach to the industry, reinforcing the spirit of unity among African artists.

The 67th Grammy Awards, held at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, were a defining moment for Nigerian music. As artists like Davido, Tems, Burna Boy, and Asake continue to push Afrobeats to the world, Davido’s reaction is a reminder that success in music is not just about individual wins but about celebrating the growth of the industry as a whole.
