The family of popular Nigerian singer, Innocent Idibia, widely known as 2Baba, has raised alarm over his mysterious disappearance, filing a petition with the Department of State Services (DSS) to locate his whereabouts.
This latest development follows a public outburst from his mother, which had already sparked speculation about the singer’s wellbeing.
In a petition dated February 7 and signed by their lawyer, Wilson Anuge, the Idibia family stated that 2Baba had been missing since February 10, 2025.
According to the statement, the veteran singer left his residence in his loungewear for what appeared to be his routine morning walk but never returned home.
“We are writing to urgently seek your assistance regarding a profoundly troubling situation involving a member of the Idibia family, Mr. Innocent Idibia (also known as Tuface or 2Baba), whom our client reasonably believes has been missing since Monday, February 10, 2025,” the petition read.
The family disclosed that despite exhaustive efforts by his relatives, staff, and record label to contact or locate him, all attempts had proven futile. Calls to his phone had gone unanswered, and no one close to him had been able to provide any clues about his whereabouts.
“This disturbing situation, coupled with the fact that those who should have heard from him have not done so for over 72 hours, has left his entire family deeply concerned,” the petition continued.
The unexpected disappearance has intensified concerns, as 2Baba has never been known to abandon his commitments or remain out of contact for such an extended period.
His mother’s recent public outcry about his relationship with the Edo lawmaker has already set off rumors, and this latest development has fueled speculation about potential underlying problems.
While fans and well-wishers continue to express their worries on social media, the Idibia family remains hopeful that authorities will swiftly intervene to unravel the mystery surrounding the singer’s sudden disappearance.
