Nigerian music sensation Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, has once again made history by winning the Best African Music Performance category at the 67th Grammy Awards, marking her second consecutive win in the category.
The Best African Music Performance category, which was introduced in 2024, saw South Africa’s Tyla win its inaugural edition with Water.
Now, Tems becomes the first artist to claim the award twice in a row, solidifying her dominance on the international stage.
In addition to her historic win, Tems received three Grammy nominations this year, bringing her career total to eight nominations.
She was also nominated for Best Global Music Album (Born in the Wild) and Best R&B Song (Burning), further showcasing her versatility across multiple genres.
